Theory and practical responses may be stored so that authorised examiners can review and grade student submissions.

3. Multiplayer Information

Knovilla provides multiplayer experiences including pass-and- play, local Wi-Fi, and online multiplayer modes.

When using multiplayer features, information required to operate the game session may be processed. This can include player identifiers, usernames, room information, game configuration, answers, scores, and other temporary gameplay information required to run the multiplayer session.

Multiplayer gameplay information may be transmitted between your device and the Knovilla multiplayer server while a game session is active.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

Knovilla may use browser storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage to maintain login sessions, guest sessions, user identifiers, preferences, and other application-related information.

Information stored in your browser may remain on your device until you log out, remove it, clear your browser data, or the application replaces or removes the stored information.

Information collected through Knovilla may be used to:

Knovilla currently uses MongoDB with Mongoose for server-side data storage and database management.

Information stored on our servers is retained according to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and the applicable Knovilla features.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

Information may be made available to other users when this is necessary for a feature you intentionally use. For example, multiplayer games may display player usernames and relevant gameplay information to participants in the same game session.

Student theory and practical submissions may be made available to authorised examiners for the purpose of assessment and grading.

We may use technical service providers required to operate Knovilla, including hosting, database, server, communication, and infrastructure services. Such providers may process information as necessary to provide their services.

We may disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of Knovilla and its users.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Knovilla retains learning and assessment records so that users can access their results and progress and so that submitted theory and practical work can be reviewed and graded.

Users can deliberately delete eligible submissions through the available deletion controls in Knovilla.

When a user deletes a submission, it is first moved to an archived state rather than being immediately and permanently removed.

Archived submissions are permanently deleted after 21 days.

Users can also delete their Knovilla account using the account deletion mechanism provided within the application.

9. Advertising

Knovilla may introduce advertising as part of its monetisation strategy.

If advertising services are introduced, advertising providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and applicable privacy requirements.

This Privacy Policy will be updated as necessary to reflect the advertising technologies and services used by Knovilla.

We will not intentionally place advertising in a manner designed to encourage accidental clicks or interfere with active gameplay.
